SoccerPlus Education Center Programs

The SoccerPlus Education Center is focused on three primary programs that work together:

I. KICKBACK PROGRAM - which makes major donations of lightly used soccer training equipment and clothing to groups in need. Boxes of gear have been delivered to a groups in El Salvador, Brazil, to Ethan Zohn’s Grassroots program in Africa, as well as locally in downtown Hartford and to the Project Goal Program in Providence, R.I.

II. ED CENTER PRESENTATIONS – hosts presentations on a variety of topics free of charge for the local community in an effort to teach important life skills. Presentations have been well-attended (30- 320 attendees) and supported by the local community: including FSASoccerPlus FC players and parents, local college students, high school and club coaches, as well as a variety of other groups. Run from September through May each year.

III. CLUB OUTREACH PROGRAM The SoccerPlus Club Outreach Program takes youth soccer players out into the community to interact with those less fortunate through participation in an after school program. The students receive a snack and a positive message is shared with the club players acting as peer mentors. The group then plays soccer, the coaches and club players teach soccer skills and play with the students.
